Brief Profile:   Basu Mittra Chakma is serving as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at University Of Chittagong in Bangladesh. He received his MSS & BSS in Sociology from University of Chittagong. Mr. Chakma interested in development sociology, ethnicity, minority & race, indigenous peoples, migration & rural development. His previous research concentrated on Globalization: its causes & impacts on tribal societies in Bangladesh: A sociological study in Chittagong Hill Tracts. He was former general secretary of Chittagong Hill Tracts Hill Student Council (CHTPCP), a political organization of tribal students committed to ensure human rights, customary land rights of CHT indigenous peoples, in Chittagong metropolitan area. His master’s thesis highlighted on land base crisis & conflict of tribal people in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Now he is working on economic exclusion and disparities of tribal and indigenous peoples in a nation state: an empirical study in Bangladesh.
